Conflicts

There are NO conflicts during tech week.  No exceptions.   Please remember, you are part of a team and you let down your team when you aren’t present. If you miss a stage placement, clean up day, or dress rehearsal, you will not be permitted to perform.

Stuff to Bring

Please bring the following items to rehearsal.  You may leave these items under your chair the entire week.

(1) Make-up Kit (foundation, blush, mascara, eye shadow, eye liner)

(2) Hair brush and bobby pins (we don’t share hairbrushes)

(3) Leotard or shorts and tank to wear under your costume for quick changes.

(4) A water bottle with a lid (no food and drink allowed near costumes, only water in a sealed container)

(5) Shoes and tights/socks for performance

(6) Book or quiet activity for downtime

Stuff to Leave at Home

Please leave the following items at home.

(1) Valuables (anything you would be sad about if it gets lost or stolen)

(2) IPod, Game Boy, DS, or other electronic games (cell phones should be on silent and kept out of sight, no texting or games on your cell during rehearsal)

(3) Jewelry (remove and leave at home all earrings, necklaces, rings, as they are not a part of your costume)

(4) Painted nails (unless cleared with director)

Make- Up:

For this show, we will doing our animal face painting and Cruelie character make up on site.  We have ordered proper supplies and want to make sure everyone looks uniform.  Please help us by arriving at rehearsal and performances with basic make up: foundation, eyeliner, mascara.

Ending Time

The tough part about tech week is that we need to get through the entire production each night.  For Cue to Cue, we will do our best to end by 10:00 PM.   For dress rehearsals, we will do our best to end by 9:30 PM. Please feel free to text the Haven Phone for an update on ending times or come early and watch the end of the rehearsal.  Your child will call when the rehearsal is finished.

Ending Time for Kindergarteners and 1st Graders:

The biggest challenge for our youngest cast members is the late nights for tech week and performances. We have only scheduled our youngest students to attend one late night rehearsal. If possible, we recommend your child stay for the entire rehearsal. Over the years, we have found that they really do need one full run to be prepared. However, if you have a child that simply can’t make it, please feel free to sign them out a little early.

Parents

Feel free to watch dress rehearsals and use the opportunity to take photos. Reminder that there is no videography or flash photography during performances.

Sign-In

Please sign in at the side glass doors.  If you do not sign in, we will assume you are not present and our stage manager will call you to find you.

Sign-Out

You must check out each night with Kelsea (Forest Animals, Cruelie Ensemble) or Kindra (all other roles) to insure that your costumes and props have been properly put away.  Please make sure you sign out so that we know your parents have picked you up.

Sign-Out for Performances – Forest Animals and Cruelie Ensemble

Parents, you will be required to physically sign out your child. Please come to the stage right backstage area to pick up your child. Please feel free to take your child to greet friends and family in costume. Just make sure to change before you leave the building.

Sign-Out for Performances – Leads, Featured Dancers, Narnian Ensemble

After the show, older cast members will be released in costume to visit with friends and family.  Once a cast member is released, they are no longer under the care of Haven staff members.

Backstage

Parents, family members, and friends will not be allowed backstage during performances.  Parent volunteers for each performance will be given a badge.  Parents, you are welcome to help your child with costumes and make up until 30 minutes prior to curtain.  The backstage area will be re-opened to parents after the show.

Costumes

Costumes are never to leave the building.  You should always change back into your street clothes after each rehearsal or show.  Please leave all your costumes, shoes, and props here at the church – even if it’s something that you personally own.

Act-o-gram Pre-sale

Ever have trouble getting to the act-o-gram table during performances? Come and fill out your act-o-grams for the weekend ahead of time during our open box office hours:

Posters and Flyers:

Don’t forget to pick up your Narnia posters and flyers to help us advertise our show! With two extra performances this fall, we have a lot of seats to fill to give our students a great audience. Please note that larger posters are for posting in public places – local businesses, school, community centers, etc. Smaller, postcard size flyers are for distributing to family and friends. Make sure to pick up a flyer with details about our poster contest!

Off Book THIS Saturday:

All students should be off book (lines, choreography, and music memorized) for our first run through on Saturday.

Narnia Sunday 11/13:

The following students will be called for Narnia Sunday 11/13:

Narnian Ensemble, Featured Fairy Dancers, Featured Cruelie Dancers, Peter, Susan, Lucy, Edmund, Aslan, Beavers, White Witch, Fenris.

If called for Narnia Sunday, here is what you need to know:

  • Service times are 8:00 AM, 9:30 AM, and 11:15 AM. For some numbers cast members will switch off services, for other numbers both casts will perform together.
  • Your child will finish around 12:30 PM.
  • Parents are welcome to attend one or all services to watch their child perform. Haven will provide supervision for performers backstage – parents are not required to stay.
  • Please send your child with a snack.
  • White Witch, Aslan, Susan, Lucy, Edmund, Peter, and Beavers will take home their costumes on Saturday afternoon and should show up at 7:00 AM on Sunday morning in full costume and make up. Our director will provide more details to leads on how we will work this out with double casting during tech week.
  • All other performers will wear their Narnia costume. Please wear all black. Performers should be able to dance and move in black clothing.
  • Featured Numbers: Deep Magic, Field of Flowers, From the Inside Out, All of These

Saturday 10/15 NO REHEARSAL

Please note there will be no Saturday rehearsal this week due to an event at OCF Church. We already made up the missed rehearsal by starting Saturdays a week early, so our students are still on track.

T-Shirts Are In:

Narnia T-shirts have arrived. You can pick up your t-shirt after any Tuesday or Thursday rehearsal at the sign out board. Please be aware that staff members will not be available to pass our t-shirts before or during rehearsal.

On-line Ticket Sales Begin THIS Tuesday 10/4 at 8:00 AM:

The best seats do go quickly, so make sure you buy your tickets early. You can purchase tickets at www.havennarnia.brownpapertickets.com

Note: you will want to arrange to purchase tickets on your computer and not your phone.  Brown Paper Tickets technology that allows you to pick your own seat will not work on your phone.

Narnian Ensemble, Edmund, Peter – Belts Needed:

All Narnian Ensemble and Pevensie children will be provided a sword and sheath for the production, but we are asking for each student to bring their own belt to hold the sword. Belt should be brown or black and a few sizes BIGGER than what you would normally wear to hold your pants up. We recommend checking out Salvation Army or borrow from a grown up family member. You will not need your belt until tech week.

On-line Ticket Sales Up Open Next Tuesday 10/4

Follow this link: http://www.havennarnia.brownpapertickets.com

Or call 1-800-838-3006

Are all tickets performance specific and assigned seating?

Yes. When you purchase your tickets you will choose a performance AND a seat.

How much are tickets?

General Admission: $10 pre-sale, $12 at the door. VIP: first three rows, ranging $15-30.

How do I sell my 10 pre-sale tickets?

Each family is required to sell AT LEAST 10 tickets. You can either send your family members or friends to the website to purchase their own tickets, or you can purchase a block of tickets and sell them on your own. If you send your family and friends to purchase their own tickets, you will need to provide the Haven offices with a list of names for the people who purchased tickets.

What if I want to have hard copy tickets to sell?

When you purchase your tickets, you will select how you want your tickets delivered. The company can mail you hard copies of tickets if you would like. You can then sell these tickets to your family and friends.

What if I need to exchange a ticket?

You will not be able to exchange a ticket through Brown Paper Tickets. You must wait until on-line ticket sales are shut down one week prior to opening night. Tickets will be available for exchange at specifically scheduled times during tech week.

What if I have a technical problem purchasing tickets on-line?

You will need to contact Brown Paper Tickets. Haven cannot solve any technical issues for you.

What if I have a friend or family member who isn’t good at using the computer or internet?

They can call Brown Paper Tickets instead. All transactions can be done over the phone as well: 1-800-838-3006.

How long are pre-sale tickets available?

Pre-sale tickets are available up to one week before opening night (Thursday 11/3). After that time, tickets will be available at the door or during special box office hours during tech week.
