Saturday Lunch Break:

If you are called in the afternoon and are staying for lunch break, please bring a sack lunch. The fridge is available to store cold items, but we do not have access to the church microwave or other kitchen appliances during Saturday rehearsals. Please plan your meals accordingly.

Leaving Campus During Lunch Break:

If you are called in the afternoon and are staying through lunch break, please be aware that you are still legally under Haven’s care. Unless picked up by an adult, students under 18 will not be permitted to leave the premises during their lunch break. If your child is under 18, provides his or her own transportation, and would like to leave the premises during lunch break, please send written approval. The safety of our students is very important to us.

On-line ticket sales open Tuesday June 6th at 8:00 AM. All seats are general admission at $15. All seating is assigned seating, so make sure to purchase your tickets early to ensure getting a good seat.

Parent Volunteer Sign Ups:

If you would like further descriptions of the different jobs and volunteer spots, please download the “Parent Volunteer Handbook” on the downloads page of the website. (Choose the “resources” tab on the homepage and select “downloads” from the dropdown menu).

T-Shirt Order:

On-line T-shirt orders are due next Friday 5/26. Please be aware that we will only order an exact number of t-shirts, so make sure to purchase your t-shirt now if you want one.

Shoes:

Please ensure that your child is wearing the proper dances shoes at rehearsal as quickly as possible. Students should be dancing in the shoes they will wear for the performances at all rehearsals (If you have the right shoe, but the wrong color or style, you may wait until we get closer to the show to purchase new ones.)

All Males: black jazz shoes AND men’s character or dress shoes

All Females: black character shoes AND black jazz shoes

Please note that…

(1) We will not have elementary tickets available for exchange or purchase during Jr. High tech week or during Jr. High performances.

Set Strike:

Please be aware that each cast member will be assigned a short 5-10 minute chore after the closing performance. They are not required to stay for the entire set strike, but will be required to clean up their own personal space and backstage area.

Mics

If you are a lead and wearing a body mic, please treat it with care.  If you damage a mic, you will need to pay for the damages.  You are not to remove your own mic!  At the end of each performance and rehearsal please see T LeFort for removal.

For Tuesday and Wednesday we are asking those who are wearing a body mic to be in costume, hair, and make-up at 5:30 PM.  Doors will be open as early as 4:00 PM should you wish to get there early.

(3) Leotard or shorts and tank to wear under your costume for quick changes.

(4) A water bottle with a lid (no food and drink allowed near costumes, only water in a sealed container)

(5) Jazz shoes and socks/tights (depending on which you were asked to bring)

(6) Book or quiet activity for downtime

Stuff to Leave at Home

(1) Valuables (anything you would be sad about if it gets lost or stolen)

(2) IPod, Game Boy, DS, or other electronic games (cell phones should be on silent and kept out of sight, no texting or games on your cell during rehearsal)

(3) Jewelry (remove and leave at home all earrings, necklaces, rings, as they are not a part of your costume)

(4) Painted nails

Ending Time

The tough part about tech week is that we need to get through the entire production each night.  We will do our best to end around 8:30-9:00 PM.

Parents

Feel free to watch dress rehearsals and use the opportunity to take photos.

Parents, your child must check out each night with Abigail to insure that your costumes and props have been properly put away.  Please make sure you sign out so that we know you have picked up your child.

Parents, please come backstage to sign your child out after each performance. You are welcome to take photos with friends and family in costume before changing back into your street clothes.

Backstage

Parents, family members, and friends will not be allowed backstage during performances.  Parent volunteers for each performance will be given a badge.  Parents, you are welcome to help your child with costumes and make up until one hour prior to curtain.  The backstage area will be re-opened to parents after the show.

Costumes

Video Recording

There is no video recording during performances. MTI has finally released the rights for Haven to professionally video our production and make videos available to families in the cast. You can fill out a video order form at the sign in table during tech week or at the concessions counter during performances.

Tech Week Diners – Order Forms Due Thursday

Tech Week Dinner order forms will be available at the sign in table at rehearsal this week. Please make sure to turn in both form and money by Thursday at 6:30 PM. Forms can be dropped off at elementary rehearsal Tuesday, at the Haven offices during the week, or at Thursday’s Jr. High rehearsal.

DAP

A reminder that we will be administering our annual DAP (Developmental Assets Profile) survey to our students over the next three weeks. If you wish to “opt out,” please make sure to turn in your Opt Out Form by this Tuesday. We appreciate you considering allowing your child to participate. This simple and quick survey provides is with data that helps us secure the grants and funding that keep your child’s program running.
