*Please be aware that this week your rehearsal group may be called on a different day or time than our typical schedule.  As we approach performances, we are beginning to combine rehearsal groups to clean numbers.

Announcements:

Off Book – Saturday 10/27:

Please prepare to be “Off Book” for our first run through on Saturday.  “Off Book” means that all lines, choreography, songs, and blocking are memorized.  Students are still encouraged to bring their script to rehearsal to refer to when not on stage.

Tech Crew

We are looking for high-school aged or older students to help with tech crew for Beauty and the Beast. Tech crew must be available for all tech rehearsals and performances. We will sign off on any Community Service hour forms. If you know someone who may be interested please have them email Jordan at Jordan@havenartsacademy.org.

Socks and Tights for Performances:

Student will need to provide their own socks and/or tights for the performance.  Please see the list below for color and type.  Students should bring their socks/tights to their first dress rehearsal during tech week.

Townspeople Ensemble Men – black knee socks

Townspeople Ensemble – black tights with black character shoes, tan tights with tan character shoes

Featured Dancer Candlesticks – black tights

Featured Dancers All Others – tan tights

Rebekah Hellerman has been directing youth theatre productions for ten years. Favorite directing projects include Beauty and the Beast, Oliver!, and Sound of Music. She received a B.A. in Elementary Education and teaching credential from Biola University. After founding and building a successful theatre program at OCF Church, Rebekah established Haven Academy of the Arts. Under OCF Youth Theatre she organized and directed four successful Summer Theatre Camps, produced well-known family musicals, and facilitated outreach programs in inner-city Los Angeles. During Haven’s first year, she taught 2nd grade at Hermosa Valley and 3rd/4th grade at First Lutheran Venice. Rebekah believes strongly in applying educational theory and child development to directing children. She is consistently blessed by the amazing opportunities God has given her to work with these talented young people.
